Duma Czarnowa – Border Terrier FCI

ABOUT US

Animals have been a part of my life forever. The empathy towards their suffering is immense, which is why many times I've rescued and adopted those in need. The Border Terrier was my first purebred dog. I made this choice very consciously after extensive research and careful analysis of the breed.

I first saw a Border Terrier in the corporation where I worked - one day the boss, a native Englishman, brought in two very unassuming and funny little dogs. It was love at first sight! The first Border, a female named Foxy, came to us in 2010 and is still with us today. For many years, she was one of the youngest dogs in our home. As time passed, dogs passed away, and only Foxy remained. That's when I managed to persuade my husband to adopt another Border. She came from the same kennel as the first female and was a long-awaited addition to our pack. I never imagined that with her arrival, I would discover my hidden passions, and my life would undergo such significant changes.

Although we love all our animals, when LADY appeared in 2021, we knew immediately that she was "the one" dog. The wonderfully sweet little pup stole our hearts right away and brings immense joy every day. LADY is the absolute fulfillment of our dreams of a canine companion, embodying the best traits of her breed. She is intelligent, cheerful, sociable, and loyal (though she loves all people), yet she can be cheeky and stubborn at times. Her personality enchanted us so much that we desired to have a puppy from her. Therefore, we decided on a future litter to potentially have an equally fantastic puppy as her offspring.

Dogs have always been, are, and will be
family members. We love spending every
free minute together."

That's when our adventure with dog shows began. We went to our first one in 2022, and immediately my husband and I understood that it would be an incredibly exciting chapter in our lives. Such trips are an incredible adventure, many hours on the road, exploring new countries, nice hotels, and romantic dinners. It's time we spend doing what we both love the most - being together with our dog.

Our kennel is the result of our love for LADY and a lifelong passion that we discovered thanks to her. It's also an extraordinary commitment and enthusiastic work of my entire family: my husband Sławek and our daughter Sara. Our dogs have always been, are, and will be family members, and we love spending every free minute together. Soon, we plan to completely change our current life, leave the city, and move with them to the picturesque regions of the Karkonosze Mountains.

  • MISSION

My mission is to promote the Border Terrier breed, which is still relatively unknown in Poland. I want to meet new breeders and enthusiasts of these extraordinary animals and participate in shows, admiring the most beautiful representatives of this breed coming from all over the world.

In a short time, I managed to establish contacts with many Border Terrier breeders from the Czech Republic, Sweden, England, Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia, Ukraine, and Germany. These are extraordinary relationships because owning a dog of this breed is not an obvious choice. Border Terrier owners are people who consciously seek its unique traits and are aware of its low popularity in Europe so far.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

Since neither my profession nor my education is related to dog breeding, I continue to educate myself and train in this area. Over the past year, I have attended many courses to enter the circle of breeders, learn about cynology, and gather as much information as possible about the special needs of the Border Terrier breed. I have completed many interesting training sessions, including:

  • Prohandling: Preparation for breeding
  • Prohandling: Breeding marketing
  • Hunting Course: Canine Cynology
